“Happy Now” was my debut album—and still my favourite one I’ve written so far. It was a project that felt like pure magic to create. These songs were my first words as an artist, and I had so much to say.
Creating it with the incredible & talented friends that I did, made the process unforgettable. Writing, singing, playing, and recording it together and with Shawn Cole (Producer – The Warehouse Vancouver & Lab Monkey Studios) brought the whole thing to life in the best way.
I’ve always loved Steve Bell’s idea that songs are out there, floating in the universe, waiting for someone to catch them. If you don’t, they just drift by—and Bruce Cockburn grabs them. That thought kept me connected and inspired throughout the process.
“Happy Now” came together in a week. Even though it’s been a while, it still feels as special as the day I wrote it—and that’s what matters.
