I wrote the chapter nobody ever sang — what happens after she takes the man.

Everyone knows Jolene…

I’m Heidi Vincent, a Vancouver-based independent artist & my newest single is “Mean Jolene.”

Written as a continuation of Dolly Parton’s Jolene, the song asks the question the original never answered: what happens years later?

Told from the same woman’s perspective, it turns out Jolene didn’t steal a prize — she inherited the problem… with a little karma baked in.

The track carries nods to Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, and a hint of Stan Jones while staying rooted in modern country storytelling.

Produced by Winston Hauschild (Treehouse Studios Bowen Island, BC), the recording features:

🤠Lee Kelley – Nashville (drums)

🤩Jerry Wong – Vancouver (guitars)

⚡️Ryan Hauschild – Bowen Island (guitars)

I write songs 🎶 and I sing 🎙️ 💓

Welcome in, sugar. This is where the music’s honest, the humour’s dark, and the women are done takin’ nonsense. 💎
