I’ve turned 49 today and although that is one year shy of half a century, I do not feel what “49” used to mean.
As a tween in the 80’s, both sets of my grandparents were approximately 59. When people turned 50 in that era their birthdays unequivicably came with some comments and complaining of aches, pains, fear and quite a bit of sarcastically humourous comments on what it was like to get old. Looking back, I recognize people projected their thoughts and feelings right into their bodies.
Perhaps their conceptions were based on various things, but with new scientific information, these conceptions can now be changed. They are for me. Those who are willing to examine where their conceptions came from will discover their mind is limitless. We can do and be more than previously thought, in joy, in health, and in love.
I am fortunate to have always had a strong desire to be active right to adulthood. I jog, bicycle, “yogi,” resistance train and, since meeting my fiance’ 7 years ago, I have added muay thai skills & conditioning.
I have also turned to plant-based whole foods, I am a vegan. I chose this for the trifecta reasons as follows: my health, empathy for animals and for our environment. Something for you to consider. I intermittently fast 3 days a week anywhere from 12 to 18 hours. I am fortuitous to have a fiance’ who shares this lifestyle with me, we really enjoy life together.
The bikini picture was taken by Simon, May 2019 in Maui, one of the most beautiful places on the planet and, also where he proposed. My body composition and overall health has since improved as has my energy and mindset. It is directly related to what I am eating, the amount of rest I get and hydrating myself daily. I’m focused on a further 10% improvement in my overall health. I’m all in.
Thank you for all the Birthday wishes on my social media!
