Fade – Behind the Scenes

The way I usually write is by picking up an instrument, strumming or playing some chords until I hear the song coming through. I read this idea somewhere and I am paraphrasing, “sometimes it’s as if there are millions of songs floating invisibly around us in the universe. If we keep working on our art, our ideas we can pluck it out of the air.” I usually coax my songs but sometimes a song just “happens” and I add layers to the motion while it becomes its own entity.

The music and arrangement for Fade was created by my friend, songwriter & producer Vic Levak, and I created the lyrics, much the same way I usually write a song. I just played with words and thoughts and let them stream through my consciousness and out my mouth.

Please take a listen to Fade from “Something Borrowed, Something Blue” on my Heidi Vincent media page or at iTunes here and support me by purchasing the song if you like 🙂

Welcome in, sugar. This is where the music’s honest, the humour’s dark, and the women are done takin’ nonsense. 💎
